BROOKLYN (Sept. 21, 2024) – The Brooklyn Nets have signed free agent guard Amari Bailey. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Bailey (6’4”, 189) appeared in 10 games during his rookie campaign last season (2023-24) with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 2.3 points over 6.5 minutes per contest. The Chicago native saw action in 23 regular season games (22 starts) with the Hornets’ NBA G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, where he recorded averages of 19.3 points, five rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals across 32.5 minutes per game. Bailey also played in 13 Showcase Cup games (four starts) with the Swarm, averaging 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 28 minutes per game. The 20-year-old was selected 41st overall in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft by Charlotte after spending one year (2022-23) at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors while helping lead the Bruins to an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance.
