Brooklyn Nets Re-Sign Day’Ron Sharpe and Josh Minott

BROOKLYN (July 6, 2026) – The Brooklyn Nets have re-signed center Day’Ron Sharpe and forward Josh Minott to multi-year contracts. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released.

Sharpe (6’10”, 265) appeared in 62 games (seven starts) during the 2025-26 campaign and averaged career highs of 8.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 18.7 minutes per game. The 24-year-old ranked fourth among qualified NBA players with 2.7 offensive rebounds per game off the bench last season, while ranking second among reserves in total offensive rebounds (151) and sixth in total boards (358). In 253 career games (21 starts), the five-year pro holds averages of 7.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15.5 minutes per game and ranks second in franchise history in career offensive rebounds off the bench (580) and third in total rebounds off the bench (1,306). The University of North Carolina product earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors in his lone season with the Tar Heels (2020-21) and was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by Phoenix before his draft rights were acquired by Brooklyn on Aug. 6, 2021.

Minott (6’8”, 205) appeared in 49 games (11 starts) for the Celtics and Nets last season and averaged 7.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 17.0 minutes per game. Following a February 5, 2026, trade to Brooklyn, Minott played 16 games (one start) for the Nets, posting a career-high 10.8 points with 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 19.3 minutes per game on 39.5 percent from 3-point distance. The Boca Raton, Fla., native ended the season with the highest-scoring 15-game span of his career (11.5 points per game), which included a career-high 24 points against Atlanta on March 12 and a career-best six 3-pointers against New York on March 20. Across 142 career games (11 starts) with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, Minott holds averages of 4.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.1 minutes per game. Following one season at the University of Memphis (2021-22), he was selected with the 45th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by Charlotte before his draft rights were acquired by Minnesota on June 24, 2022.
