BROOKLYN (Sept. 16, 2025) – The Brooklyn Nets have acquired guard Kobe Bufkin from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for cash considerations.
Bufkin (6’4”, 195) appeared in 10 games for Atlanta last season, registering averages of 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.4 minutes per contest. In 27 appearances over two seasons (2023-25) with the Hawks, Bufkin holds career averages of 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 11.8 minutes per game. The 21-year-old also appeared in 14 regular season games for Atlanta’s NBA G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, during the 2023-24 season, averaging 23.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 32 minutes per contest while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from 3-point range and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line. The Grand Rapids, Mich., native was selected by Atlanta with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft after playing two collegiate seasons (2021-23) at Michigan. Bufkin helped the Wolverines advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and earned All-Big Ten Third Team honors (coaches) and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors (media) as a sophomore.
