The New York Yankees will open the 2025 regular season at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, March 27, at 3:05 p.m. against the Milwaukee Brewers. All Yankee Stadium gates will open to Guests with valid tickets beginning at 1 p.m.
Pregame ceremonies will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m., with the introduction of both teams on the baselines.
The Yankees are proud to partner with CLEAR to provide ticketed fans with a faster, easier way into Yankee Stadium. Download the free CLEAR app, sign up, and enter through the designated CLEAR Lane expedited entry at Babe Ruth Plaza and the Suite Entrance (for Guests with Suite access).
For the fourth consecutive home opener, a giant American flag will be unfurled by Yankees season-ticket holders prior to the national anthem, which will be sung by Tony-nominated actress Betsy Wolfe, who most recently wrapped her acclaimed tenure with the hit musical & Juliet in the role of Anne Hathaway. The presentation of colors will be performed by the U.S. Army West Point Cadet Honor Guard.
Andy Pettitte — five-time World Series champion, Monument Park inductee and current Yankees Special Assistant to the General Manager — will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Yankee Stadium will also feature guest performer DJay Jung, who will play music prior to the game and during inning breaks. During the seventh-inning stretch, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Francisco Aisporna from the West Point Band will sing “God Bless America,” and the Yankees will honor a pair of U.S. Army veterans from Kew Gardens, N.Y. — Private First Class John Critelli (age 95), who served in the Korean War, and his older brother, Staff Sergeant Dominick Critelli, who served in World War II and will be celebrating his 104th birthday on April 8.
In addition to the Opening Day festivities, prior to Thursday’s game, the Yankees will hold a moment of silence in remembrance of Miller Gardner, son of former Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner, who passed away on March 21. Prior to their games vs. Milwaukee on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, the Yankees will hold moments of silence for longtime employee and former Visiting Clubhouse Manager Lou Cucuzza Sr. and legendary Brewers announcer Bob Uecker, respectively.
The matchup with Milwaukee will mark the fourth all-time Opening Day meeting between the clubs (also 1979 and 1977 at the original Yankee Stadium, and 1976 at Milwaukee) and the first since the Brewers joined the National League in 1998. Additionally, it marks the third time the Yankees will open their season against an NL club (also 2023 vs. San Francisco and 2020 at Washington).
The Yankees have won six of their last seven season openers (since 2018) and are 69-52-1 on Opening Day all time, including 38-18-1 when the season opener is a home game. The Yankees enter Thursday’s contest with an 81-40-1 all-time record in their first home game of the season and have won six of their last eight home openers since 2017.
