Derek Jeter is officially giving up his New York roots, in a way, by putting his Tiedemann Castle compound in Orange County, New York, on the market.

Now that he is maintaining full-time residency in the Sunshine State, The Captain is selling his No. 2 house, a 12,590 square foot palace in Greenwood Lake, N.Y., a stone's throw from the New York/New Jersey state line.

The four-acre estate, which Jeter purchased in 2003, was built in 1903 but has been completely updated during The Captain's ownership. The property houses three actual dwellings - a main house, guest house, and pool house - and includes a lagoon, a replica Statue of Liberty, and nearly 700 feet of shoreline on Greenwood Lake proper, including a boat house.

The property also has plenty of space for entertaining, as you might imagine, with six bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, four kitchens (including an outdoor one), an infinity pool, and a pretty swank game room. Pretty much everything you need to feel like you're on the tip of Manhattan, only not?

You wouldn't just be getting all that, though, because you'd actually be purchasing a family heirloom; , Jeter's maternal grandfather, William Connors, grew up in the home after being adopted by the Tiedemann family, who purchased the property in 1952, and The Captain himself bought the property from the Tiedemann family trust in 2003.

The price tag for all that? A paltry $14.75 million to buy, but the cost of ownership might not be so bad going forward, as property taxes for the estate were listed as only $16,690 in 2017.

Quite the outlay, sure, but with Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot now over a billion dollars, you or someone you know might soon have the cash to honor one of the most memorable sitcom-made holidays and celebrate a belated, but very much worthwhile, "Treat Yo Self Day" with Jeterian flair.
