DETROIT - The New York Yankees have recalled outfielder Clint Frazier from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to be the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Tigers in Detroit.
Frazier, 23, has spent most of the season with the RailRiders, hitting .327 with five home runs and eight RBI in 25 games after returning from a concussion that sidelined him for more than two months. He also spent five days in the Majors earlier this season, appearing in one game - the Yankees' 8-3 win in Kansas City on May 19 - and going 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and a run scored.
Frazier had been scratched from Sunday's RailRiders lineup just before game time, and flew from Indianapolis (where SWB was playing) to Detroit. He will be eligible for both games today, and because he was optioned back to Triple-A more than 10 days ago, Frazier could remain with the Yankees if they decide to option someone else to the Minors following today's games.
