Evening to include Chinese cultural experiences, exclusive merchandise, halftime performance by Will Liu and more
The Brooklyn Nets will commemorate the Chinese New Year on Wednesday, Feb. 11 when the team hosts the Indiana Pacers at Barclays Center, with the celebration supported by OCM Globe, Inc. and Venturant Group. The Chinese New Year game is an annual celebration and part of the Nets Unite platform, which seeks to build unity, celebrate culture, and foster equity by amplifying the rich cultures of Brooklyn’s diverse communities. 2026 is the Year of the Horse and to mark the occasion, a limited-edition merchandise line inspired by the Chinese Zodiac and Brooklyn’s distinctive street style will be sold exclusively in the Nets’ team store at Barclays Center, Brooklyn Fanatics.
Supporting partners of the Nets’ Chinese New Year game, OCM Globe, Inc. and Venturant Group, will host a cultural experience inspired by the ancient Chinese “Yi Zhan” – a vibrant hub of connection that provided rest, shelter, and community for messengers and travelers on long-distance journeys. The activation in Section 23 will feature six booths featuring different culinary vendors. Additionally, all fans will receive a Chinese New Year bookmark presented by OCM Globe, Inc., offering a chance to enter to win exclusive Chinese New Year merchandise. The Nets will celebrate the holiday in a variety of other ways including a wish board inviting fans to share their New Year wishes with the community, as well as a milk tea sampling station and ring toss giveaway, presented by Molly Tea in Section 15.
Chinese singer, actor and content creator Will Liu will take the court for a special halftime performance presented by Pechoin. The night will also feature themed performances by Team Hype and the Brooklynettes celebrating Chinese culture. Emma Zhu, one of the members of Brooklyn 8 – the first-ever Brooklynettes China Team – will join the Brooklynettes on the court following the group’s debut at the 2025 NBA China Games. Beyond their performances, Brooklyn 8 has represented the Brooklyn Nets in China through community programs, workshops and more.
Prior to tip-off, the National Anthem will be performed on the traditional horsehead fiddle by Chinese musical artist Surina, and player introductions will be announced in Chinese. Nets players will wear custom Chinese New Year shooting shirts during warmups, and videos featuring Chinese New Year wishes from various players will be shared on the team’s social media channels and shown in arena. Red and gold, Chinese New Year–inspired elements will be featured throughout Barclays Center, creating an immersive game-day experience.
Taking the Chinese New Year celebrations beyond Barclays Center and into the community, the Nets will host a Brooklyn Basketball clinic at the Chinatown YMCA including a red envelope designing workshop, snacks and a clinic led by Brooklyn Basketball coaches. The Nets also supported the Chinatown YMCA’s Chinese New Year celebration on Feb. 7.
The game will be broadcast live on YES Network and WFAN at 7:30 p.m. In collaboration with Tencent Sports, the game will also be streamed free to all viewers on its platform, reaching an estimated audience of more than five million. Tickets are on sale now at brooklynnets.com.
