BROOKLYN (Feb. 5, 2026) – The Brooklyn Nets have acquired forward Josh Minott from the Boston Celtics in exchange for cash considerations. In a related transaction, the Nets have requested waivers on guard Cam Thomas.
Minott (6’8”, 212) has appeared in 33 games (10 starts) for Boston this season, posting averages of 5.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.9 minutes per game while shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from 3-point range, which are all career highs. The 23-year-old holds career averages of 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per contest across 126 games (10 starts) with Minnesota and Boston over the past three-and-a-half seasons (2022-26). Minott was drafted by Charlotte with the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft and traded to Minnesota on draft night. The Boca Raton, Fla., native spent his lone collegiate season (2021-22) at the University of Memphis, where he earned AAC All-Freshman Team honors after averaging 6.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game across 33 appearances (five starts) for the Tigers.
Drafted by Brooklyn with the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft, Thomas played in 239 career games (88 starts) for Brooklyn across four-and-a-half seasons (2021-26) and holds career averages of 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 23.3 minutes per game on 43.5 percent shooting from the floor and 34.3 percent shooting from 3-point range. In 24 games (eight starts) for the Nets this season, he averaged 15.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 24.3 minutes per contest.
